Undeniably one of the most buzzed about models has converged with one of the most talked about features of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue – creating editorial that leaves very little to the imagination. Draped in nothing but body paint meant to mimic the swimwear worn by Daniela Pestova from her 2000 cover, Kate Upton is as bubbly as we’ve seen her in the past despite her lack of clothing.
Sports Illustrated has unveiled the official imagery to its 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Stocked full of high quality imagery of models and athletes from across the globe, the issue will highlight seven continents touching down in Australia, Chile, China, Spain, Las Vegas and Namibia as the backdrop for its 21 models. Having first made substantial chatter when she covered last year’s edition, the 2013 edition will see a return from Kate Upton in Antarctica. In total, the edition spotlights 17 swimsuit models and four world-class athletes.
Lil Wayne has partnered with Mountain Dew to open a brand new skatepark in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans. Aptly dubbed “DEWeezy” and built in the city’s Lower Ninth Ward, the project was completed using recycled materials and runs on solar energy while providing a free destination for local enthusiasts to hop on their boards. To mark the grand opening, Lil Wayne was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon while Mountain Dew team riders Paul Rodriguez, Theotis Beasley and Keelan Dadd put on a demo for the crowd in attendance.
The 2012 London Olympics went out with many a bang, by closing in a spectacular, star-studded affair celebrating some of Britain’s greatest commercial and artistic talents in the worlds of art, music, and fashion. One of those special talents belonged to Damien Hirst — an English artist and entrepreneur, whose unique spin on the Union Jack filled the length and breadth of the stadium grounds. Unlike many of the renditions featured throughout the games, Hirst’s take on it utilized the artist’s signature spin-style motif, although this particular effort was highly likely to be his largest installation yet.
It wasn’t easy but the United States men’s basketball team won the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. In a game that saw its fair share of fouls, 54 to be exact, Team USA edged out a tough Spain squad, 107-100. Kevin Durant led the team in scoring with 30 points while also managing to pull down 9 rebounds. LeBron James, who put together a nice 19-point performance, came through with a clutch, late-game three-pointer to seal the victory.
The road was tough but the United States men’s squad is still the best in the world.
