Ray Manzarek was the keyboardist for The Doors, and along with bringing a key ingredient to the band’s sound, he played a large role in encouraging Jim Morrison to sing. After The Doors disbanded, Manzarek continued performing, and his most recent project was his solo album called Translucent Blues, released in 2011. Today it was announced that Manzarek passed away from bile duct cancer at the age of 74. Thank you for your contributions to the world, Ray. You will be missed. R.I.P. Down below you can view one of our personal favorite live performances by The Doors singing “When The Music’s Over.”
