Together with UNDEFEATED‘s Eddie Cruz and CLOT‘s Edison Chen, and the legendary Fraser Cooke, Nike designer Marc Dolce unveiled the 2013 Year of the Snake Collection in full earlier this month in Shanghai. Flanked by media and journalists from both near and far, the launch event was decidedly more intimate. It also marks an important milestone for Nike’s Chinese New Year product line as the 12th collection, thus completing one Chinese zodiac cycle on the lunar calendar.
Billed as “The Way of the Snake” in light of snake’s association with dragons in Chinese culture, the event saw Dolce deep in discussion about each of the collection’s products, from Nike Air Force 1 CMFT in High and Low, Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite, Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4, to Kobe 8 System, Kobe 8 Red & Black, and the prized Nike Destroyer Jacket. The collection will be on sale at select Nike retailers worldwide first starting this weekend and onto February 10th, the day of Chinese New Year.
